My Brother Lou worked on this Chapel when it was being built. It’s now open. Located at Greenlawn Cemetery on Panama Lane. We checked it out on Memorial Day.

The day I was leaving for Europe I was contacted by a Graphic Designer at a Furniture company that was interested in using a photograph I had taken of the Padre Hotel. They stated they appreciated the photo’s perspective on the building and really wanted to use it in their art package for a restaurant that was opening up here in Bakersfield, CA.
I received the release form this morning and found out it’s actually going to be displayed at a McDonalds they are remodeling at 2701 White Lane Bakersfield, CA 93304! What?!! Okay, I honestly dislike McDonalds, I haven’t eaten there since I was 17 years old, yucky yuck! The thing is, it’s McDonalds, so everybody and their grandma will see my photograph in there, how amazing! They are printing my image onto clear acrylic panels that will sit on top of a divider wall as décor.
I’m depositing the check for this today. I’ve done a lot of projects for friends and family and I’ve had my stuff featured on CD’s, websites, articles, etc… but I’ve never actually been paid by an outsider for my photos/work. I have had many opportunities but I’m always my own worst critic. I take photos because they are my memories, the world through my eyes that I want to share with others…. And to get paid for sharing what I think is beautiful is a complete honor.
As soon as it opens up and my photo is displayed I will go in and take photos of it and display them here for you to see.
I’m very inspired!
